Appeal Story – The Retreat Community Centre

Assalāmu ‘Alaikum wa Rahmatullāh,

With the blessing of Allah ﷻ, earlier this year we were able to acquire the Retreat site on Chorley New Road – a beautiful building with the potential to become a lasting home for our community. A place for reflection, learning, worship, family gatherings, and spiritual growth.

For some time, progress felt quiet. We were waiting on architects, engineers, and builders to give us clear direction. Alḥamdulillāh, that chapter has now changed, and meaningful progress is underway:

• We have completed the full internal redesign of the building with an Architect and Structural Engineer.
• We are working with a Planning Inspector and will submit the change-of-use application in the coming days, inshā’Allah. This process will soon become public, so your continued support and du‘ā is vital.
• We have engaged builders and are awaiting final quotes so that refurbishment can begin. Our intention is to start work imminently, inshā’Allah.
• We will be hosting a community event in late January to share our short- and long-term vision for the Retreat and to take you through the journey ahead.

This project is more than bricks and mortar. It is about creating a sanctuary for hearts. A place where children will learn Qur’an, families will gather, du‘ā will be made, and generations will be nurtured in īmān. Every prayer offered, every lesson taught, every tear shed in worship within these walls will be a sadaqah jāriyah for all who helped build it.

As we enter Sha‘bān and approach Ramaḍān, we are reminded of the words of the Prophet ﷺ:

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Jannah.”

This is a rare opportunity to build your home in the Hereafter by helping to build a house for Allah in this world.
